TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: Your TRANSIT's BCM must have OEM remote start upgrade capability for any aftermarket or Ford OEM add-on remote start system to work. This can be confirmed by accessing the vehicle's BCM settings menu via an OBD2 FORScan and making sure the option is in the list and that it is turned ON. Or by contacting a Ford dealer's service department using your VIN number to see if the dealer can install an OEM remote starter on your specific Transit. Standard safety and security features include but are not limited to the following: Brake Pedal Monitoring: If the vehicle's brake pedal is stepped on before the ignition is turned on, the remote starter will immediately shut down. OEM Hood-Pin Monitoring: The remote start will not activate when the vehicle's hood is open, shut down upon opening, and also prevent activation when it is detected as defective or the vehicle is not equipped with an OEM open hood pin switch. Engine Performance Monitoring: The system will detect any current or stored DTCs, which will prevent the remote start from activating. Low Fuel Detection: The remote start will not activate when the low fuel light is on.
